Kingwood Nugget Necklace (Small)

These sculptural wood nugget necklaces transform precious wood into wearable art. Each necklace is handcrafted by Summer Merritt, combining her expertise in woodworking and jewelry to create heirloom-quality pieces that highlight the natural beauty of the wood.

Materials & Dimensions
From Brazil (and occasionally Mexico), known for its regal history, Kingwood it is aptly named. It was favored by French kings such as Louis XIV and Louis XV in the 17th and 18th centuries. Pendant dimensions: 15 x 18 x 10 mm. on a 16 in. rose gold plated sterling silver chain.

About the Artist
Summer Merritt brings a diverse background in art and a passion for craftsmanship to her jewelry creations. She holds a BFA in Design and an MFA in Sculpture from California State University, Long Beach. After a 16-year career working with antique eyewear, she transitioned to woodworking and jewelry, creating sculptural, heirloom-quality pieces from precious woods. Working from her studio in Weaverville, NC, she continues to bridge the worlds of sculpture and adornment.
